Apple agrees $500 million settlement for throttling old phones
Apple Inc. has agreed to pay a settlement of up to $500 million for slowing down the performance of old phones in an attempt to force users to upgrade to newer models or buy replacement batteries. Apple has denied any wrongdoing and has said it was only agreeing to avoid the cost and burden associated with the lawsuit. The settlement needs to be approved by U.S. District Judge Edward Davila.
