Cerebras unveils 'largest ever chip' to meet AI demand
A startup has created ripples by unveiling 'the largest chip ever built'. Cerebras Systems' Wafer-Scale Engine chip is designed to power AI workloads. 56.7 times larger than the Nvidia V100, it contains 1.2 trillion transistors and has 10,000 times more memory bandwidth. The chip's been in development for over four years. It won't be sold on its own but as part of a Cerebras computer "appliance".
