GitHub acquires Semmle to tackle code vulnerabilities
Github has acquired Semmle, a code analysis tool that helps developers discover vulnerabilities in their code, whilst taking a lot of the manual work out of testing. GitHub has not disclosed the price of the acquisition. Semmle raised $31 million in funding before being purchased. over time, GitHub hopes to integrate the software into its workflow. Users include the likes of Microsoft and Google.
