Intel and Brown University using AI to help paralysed people
Intel is working with Brown University to deploy AI in an attempt to help paralysed people regain movement. Researchers will record motor and sensory signals from the spinal cord and use artificial neural networks to learn how to stimulate the post-injury site to communicate motor commands. Intel AI open source software such as nGraph and Intel AI accelerator hardware will be used on the project.
