Intel in talks to acquire US chipmaker GlobalFoundries for $30bn - reports
Intel is in talks to buy US chipmaker GlobalFoundries in a deal that could be worth $30bn, making it Intel’s largest-ever acquisition, the Washington Post reports. GlobalFoundries filed to go public earlier this year and the IPO could go ahead if the acquisition isn't finalised. GlobalFoundries spun off of Intel's rival AMD in 2018 and it now accounts for 7% of all foundry business by revenue.
