Intel wants $10bn in subsidies for new European chip plant
U.S. chipmaker Intel is seeking $9.7bn in public subsidies to build a new semiconductor manufacturing facility in Europe and reduce its reliance on Asian exports, according to its Chief Executive Pat Gelsinger. "What we’re asking from both the U.S. and the European governments is to make it competitive for us to do it here compared to in Asia," he said in an interview with Politico.
