LG exits global smartphone business
South Korea’s LG Electronics will become the first major smartphone brand to completely withdraw from the market after failing to find a buyer. LG’s smartphone division has logged nearly six years of losses totalling $4.5 billion. The company has said that its exist from this market will allow it to focus on other areas such as electric vehicle components, connected devices and smart homes.
