Lightspeed scoops up Ecwid and NuOrder
Lightspeed is paying close to $1bn for two rivals in the digital commerce space. It has agreed a $500m price to buy Ecwid, which offers software for companies to launch their own digital stores in rapid time. The firm is also forking out $425m for NuOrder, a company which connects businesses directly with suppliers. "We are uniting merchants, suppliers and consumers," said a spokesperson.
