Micron launches the world's fastest storage device challenging Intel
Micron has launched a new line of hard drives for the data centre market capable of 9GB/s transfer rates. Micro and Intel formed a partnership in 2006 to develop faster storage chip technologies, but recently the pair parted ways after Micron bought out Intel's share in the joint venture for $1.5 billion. “This is just the very, very beginning,” Micron Chief Executive Sanjay Mehrotra told Reuters.
