NetApp buys cloud optimisation startup Spot
NetApp has struck a deal to acquire Spot, a startup specialising in compute management and cost optimisation on the public clouds. NetApp said it had agreed the deal with a view to to "establish leadership in Application Driven Infrastructure". It is NetApp's third high-profile acquisition this year, following deals to buy cloud storage company Talon Storage and software outfit CloudJumper.
