TSMC commits to spending $100bn to expand chip capacity
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) has laid out plans to invest $100bn over the next three years to expand its chip fabrication capacity. TSMC is considered to be the world's leading chip maker, with its products used in "practically every modern piece of electronics", according to Bloomberg. A number of companies have committed to spending billions on chips amid a global shortage.
