US shelves plans to blacklist Chinese tech giants
The US administration has ended plans to block investment in Chinese tech giants Alibaba, Tencent and Baidu. The trio were set to be blacklisted as part of a wider crackdown on China investment from the government. But the US Treasury has stepped in and frozen the plans. Nine other Chinese companies look likely to be subjected to blocks, however, ahead of President Trump vacating the White House.
