WhatsApp and Facebook to share data from users outside of Europe
WhatsApp has begun forcing users to accept data-sharing with Facebook before February 8th to continue using the app. Facebook will therefore obtain access to WhatsApp users' phone numbers, contacts' phone numbers and locations. However, this will only affect non-EU and UK residents. Critics such as Tesla's Elon Musk have advised users to move to encrypted messaging apps Signal and Telegram.
